Meet Robbie Blacketer

Ms. Blacketer spent nineteen years with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. Nine years of the nineteen were spent performing mediation as an Independent Audit Reviewer. Resolving disputed tax audits for all industries covering all taxes administered by the Comptrollers Office.

MS. BLACKETER'S JOURNEY

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Ms. Blacketer spent 19 years with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. The last 9 years at the Comptroller’s office were spent performing mediation as an Independent Audit Reviewer. In this role she helped resolve disputed tax audits for all industries covering all taxes administered by the Comptroller, including sales and use tax and Texas Franchise Tax. She has a deep knowledge and understanding of the policies and procedures used by the Comptroller as well as significant relationships with audit and administrative staff.

Ms. Blacketer has extensive sales and use tax and Texas Franchise Tax experience in a variety of industries including: technology/software development, oil and gas exploration and production, oil and gas services, construction, manufacturing, financial services and transportation. Ms. Blacketer’s experience in sales & use tax includes the following types of projects: audit defense and assistance, controversy, managed audits, refund reviews and voluntary disclosures. Ms. Blacketer’s experience in Texas franchise tax includes the following projects: audit defense and assistance, controversy, refund reviews, voluntary disclosure, nexus studies and cost of goods sold analysis.

Ms. Blacketer is a CMI and member of the Institute of Professionals in Taxation and has presented at the COST Regional Tax Seminar, TEI Tax School, LAT Seminars and IPT Symposium. She received her Bachelors in Business Administration in Accounting from Tarleton State University. Ms. Blacketer also serves on the Board of Managers for Collin County Adventure Camp a part of the Dallas YMCA organization.
